To Sew or Not to Sew
I have come to realize that sewing is a lot harder than I thought and my reading comprension is a lot worse than I thought. I recieved a new sewing machine for my early birthday, and proceeded to JoAnns for their $1.99 sale on patterns....I got 5. I started on a dress for Ryleigh...it's an "easy" pattern. WELL, not so easy for me. I just don't "get" it. Like I cant' see how the pieces fit together. I lost count how many times I had to rip seams to start a section over. I'm not giving up just yet, but I have to admit that my stamps are calling me!!! I can get my crafty fix with out stressing myself out!

A new hobby
My mom bought me a sewing machine for my birthday, which is in April by the way. But that's my mom :) She loves to give gifts and can't hold on to them very long, hehe! Anyway, so I went to Sears to pick it up, and then to JoAnn's for fabric and patterns :) I got one to make a dress and top/bloomer for Ryleigh, then 2 patterns for shirts, one for capris/shorts, and one for dresses All for me! Haha! I went a little crazy, but the Simplicity patterns were on sale for $1.99, which I found out was an amaizing deal!! Several of the patterns I got were $15 or more!! I only got fabric to make Ryleigh a dress. I figured I would try that out, then take it from there. Plus, it was lunch time and we were both ready to go ;) So hopefully the next post will be an awesome dress that I made, and not a disaster! We shall see....

My crazy life

Home at last
I had an amazing time in Managua (the capital of Nicaragua). We visited an orphanage, the cancer ward at the children's hospital, and "the dump". It's literally the city's dump, and about 2000 people live there. So we went to pass out water and tracts. I met a little boy named Kevin at the dump. We also got to pray with the parents at the children's hospital. One girl in particular stuck out to me, her name is Elisea Maragrita. She has a tumor in her chest and is almost 3. She was sucking her thumb when we walked in an it reminded me of Ryleigh. I got to pray with her mom who started crying and thanking us for being there to bring joy to the children, because we also tied ballons for them. I wish I would have gotten her picture, she was such a beautiful child with a great spirit. You could just sense it when you walked in.
There is too much really to write now, but I could totally feel that people were praying for me. My stomach was fine and no sickness on the plane or car rides (which is a big deal for me). I even welcomed beans and rice for breakfast (which is a bigger deal for me). We got to go on a zip line thorugh the canopy of Mombacho (a dormant volcano), which was a blast!!!! I can't wait to get the pictures to share! Thanks to all who prayed!

Mission Trip
I leave for Managua, Nicaragua in 12 days! I can't believe it's so close! I felt like I need to go on a mission trip after Kevin came home from his trip to Peru in July of 2008, so for it to be less than 2 weeks away is crazy! I really can't wait to go. The team is small, only 5, so we get to do a lot of things bigger teams cannot do. We will be visiting the children's hospital. I am sure this will be very tough for me. I hate to see sick children, and to see them in a third world country will only be harder. We will be tying ballons and face painting, which I'm sure will bring much needed joy to the children. We will also go to the school that is a part of the church. I am hoping to teach in the English class! I really hope that a some of the ladies will show me how to cook a few Nicaraguan dishes! Kevin and I love 'mexican' food! (yes, I know I'm not going to Mexico, but we love all latin food, Pueto Rico, Dominican Republic, Peruvian) I'm mostly excited about doing whatever the Lord wants. I get a chance to get away from all the distractions and because I'll be in a 3rd world country, I will have to totally depend on GOD. So be ready! When I get back, I'm sure I'll have plenty to blogg about!!

ok, so here are a few more pics I had to share!! We decided to take a picture of all the grandchildren (minus the 2 older ones who did not make it, sniff, sniff)....this was the best I got with my camera. My younger sis, Beth has a really nice camera, so maybe she'll send me the good pics...hint, hint! It was so good to see my family! I miss them very much!
